Leader in online software demonstrations announces intent to drive further adoptions of its Alliance Programme following string of successes with European Customers

Gothenburg, Sweden (May 20, 2008) – Runaware, the global leader in online demos and related marketing services, is aiming to encourage further adoption of its Alliance Programme for software vendors and ISVs, citing recent successes with existing customers as testimony of the scheme’s success.

The programme enables software companies to offer authorised resellers a “TestDrive button” which they can deploy on their web site to give existing and prospective customers access to fully-working online demonstrations of the vendor’s software without delay. Any leads generated by customers clicking on the TestDrive button and running demonstrations go directly to the reseller partner.

Runaware has seen significant successes with the Alliance Programme in Europe over the past few months, with leading financial systems houses, Mamut and Sage, as well as leading software firm in the US, FrontRange Solutions, making TestDrive buttons available to selected partners and achieving positive and encouraging results. The company now wants more software companies to engage with the program which, says Runaware CEO, Tim Keyes, is the ideal way to give customers access to the latest versions of software applications from trusted suppliers.

“We believe there are three main reasons why the Runaware TestDrive programme works so well for software companies that address the SMB market” states Keyes. “First of all it provides customers with an opportunity to review enhancements to applications or changes made to bring them in line with new legislation and regulations – that is particularly important with financial software.

“Second, it provides customers with instant access to the full working version of the package without having to run a download. Many applications today, once all files are downloaded, will take up considerable disk capacity and downloading them may also affect existing configuration and breach security policy.

“The third reason – and perhaps the one that is most important of all with the Alliance Programme – is that the customer can go to their partner of choice for a full online demonstration and make an informed buying decision much sooner.”

The results that software companies that have engaged in the Runaware TestDrive programme have achieved so far have been very impressive notes Keyes. In some cases the number of leads being generated by partners for individual software vendors has increased by as much as 25 percent.
