Runaware Troubleshooting Guide
Errors:
Evaluation stuck in "Applet starting"
Evaluation fails with java.security.AccessControlException
Evaluation launch hangs at "Testing
connection"
Symptom: Evaluation stuck in "Applet
starting"
Description:
The evaluation proceeds to the point where a large or full-screen
window opens up with a progress bar in the top center of the window.
After this, nothing more happens except that the progress bar is
slowly increasing.
Probable cause:
This problem is usually due to the Java applet used for the evaluation
not being granted the necessary permissions to load and run.
When the large evaluation window is opened, you will normally be
presented with a 'Security Warning' window resembling the one in the
image to the right asking you if you want to install and run a
"Citrix Java client". Runaware's service will not work if you answered
no to this question.
If you did answer 'No', the only way of making our service work is to
restart your browser. To do this it is usually enough to close all
browser windows, start it again and then reconnect to the site you
tried to use our service from. This time make sure to answer
'Yes' to the security warning.

See also 'Evaluation fails with java.security.AccessControlException'.
Symptom: Evaluation fails with java.security.AccessControlException
Description:
The evaluation is aborted and an error message dialog like the one
below is shown.

Probable cause for this error:
This error is basically the same as 'Evaluation stuck in Applet
starting' but this one only occurs when Sun's Java runtime is used.
The cause is either that the applet wasn't given the necessary
permissions OR that your browsers' security settings are set too high.
Shortly after the large evaluation window opens, you should have
been prompted with a security warning resembling the image to the
right. Runaware's service cannot work unless you answer yes to
installing the applet signed by Citrix Systems, Inc.
If you never got this question, it means that your browsers'
security level is set too high.
